In September 2021, the Tata Nexon became the best-selling small SUV. Tata Motors delivered 9,211 Nexon units in September. Nexon reported a 53.34 percent increase in revenue and a market share of 27.66 percent.
Brezza is lagging because of a chip shortage
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza fell to the seventh position, which is very rare. Only 1,847 units of the small SUV were produced by the manufacturer. It is because Maruti Suzuki's manufacturing is reduced due to a chip shortage. The shifts are cut from two to one at its manufacturing plants, resulting in a 60% reduction in overall production capacity.
Nexon EV boosts Tata Motor's sales significantly
Tata Nexon EV is India's best-selling EV. Tata sold 1,022 units and tt was the first time that an electric car's monthly sales exceeded the four-digit mark. Tata said that demand for the Nexon EV is similar to that for the Nexon Diesel.
It is very impressive, considering the Nexon EV's starting price is Rs. 13.99 lakhs and its top-of-the-line variant's price is Rs. 16.85 lakhs. In comparison, the diesel Nexon price is between Rs. 8.58 lakhs and Rs. 13.23 lakhs ex-showroom. Additionally, the increasing price of petrol and diesel has benefitted the the Nexon EV.
Appealing facelift
Nexon's first-generation performed very well in India. Tata Motors introduced the Nexon facelift in 2020, improving the small SUV's appearance further. It gained significantly more road presence, and some have compared the new Nexon's front look to a little Land Rover Discovery.

Tata Nexon is one of the safest small SUVs available in India. Nexon got a five-star rating in a Global NCAP crash test. Additionally, Tata Motors offers a slew of safety features with the Nexon. It comes with brake disc wiping, roll-over mitigation, traction control, electronic stability control, assist, twin airbags, electric brake pre-fill, and ISOFIX child seat mounts among other features.
