The Maruti S-Cross was first unveiled in 2015. It was Maruti's first diesel-only offering. However, last year Maruti announced to do away with diesel engines after the implementation of BS6 compliance. Now sticking to its plans of a petrol-only lineup; India's largest automaker has launched a petrol-only model of S-Cross.

Exteriors
Facelifted version of the S-Cross came in 2017 with extensive cosmetic upgrades. Maruti has decided to stick with the same design and power it with a petrol motor. It gets the same vertical-slat chrome grille and auto-LED projector headlamps along with integrated LED DRLs. It chunky bumper offers a rugged presence.
The only change is the absence of DDiS badge from the front fender which represented the presence of legendary outgoing diesel engine. In a nutshell, new S-Cross looks identical to the outgoing diesel engine powered model.
Interior
Except for Maruti's brand-new 7-inch touch infotainment system, the cabin looks identical as before. The new infotainment system also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also offers Suzuki Connect for vehicle telematics, however, other connected car tech features offered by the rivals are missing in S-Cross.
Other features include cruise control, leather upholstery, auto AC, and leather seats. Sunroof is also missing on the new S-Cross.
Engine
Engine has been the biggest change in the new S-Cross. It is now powered with a brand new 1.5 litre petrol engine that churns out 105 PS of power and 138 Nm o torque.
The engine comes mated with 5-speed manual gearbox and 4-speed automatic transmission. It is also equipped with Maruti's proprietary mild hybrid tech along with idle stop-start feature to enhance the fuel efficiency. It offers a ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 18.55 kmpl for the manual trim and 18.43 for automatic trim.
Price
Maruti Suzuki will offer the new S-Cross in four variants including Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. Its price range will vary from 8.39 lakh to 11.44 lakh.
Maruti is offering S-Cross petrol with the lowest entry-price in this segment. Even with its new automatic gearbox, it is the most affordable automatic petrol option.
