Mahindra XUV700 launched - check out its interiors and exteriors

After a lot of delay and speculation, Mahindra XUV700 is now officially unveiled.

Highly anticipated Mahindra XUV700 SUV is finally launched. It will go on sale from October. Along with 7-seater SUV launch, Mahindra has also introduced a new logo exclusive for its SUV range.

Interiors and features

Mahindra has brought a clean and contemporary design for its interiors. The dashboard is equipped with a 10.25-inch screen layout for the infotainment and instrument cluster. The screen is housed in a massive single panel.

The infotainment will leverage the brand’s latest AdrenoX interface with built-in Amazon Alexa for voice commands.

Mahindra has also packed the XUV700 with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, panoramic sunroof,  wireless charger, auto booster headlights, electronic parking brake, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and dashboard inserts, and a custom-built 12 speaker setup designed by Sony.

Design

XUV700’s design still looks attached to its predecessor, especially its stance and body proportions. However, there are a lot of things that are new including the grille design that has outwardly bent vertical bars, brand new headlights coupled with C-shaped DRLs that go all the way to the bumper, large and angular tail-lights, pop-out door handles,  and the twin five-spoke alloy wheels.

Safety

XUV700 will offer ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). It includes Forward Collision Warning (FCW). It will warn you of possible collisions and can also use Autonomous Emergency Brakes (AEB) to avoid an accident. It is also equipped with lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, smart pilot assist, traffic sign recognition, and driver drowsiness detection.

Mahindra XUV700 will offer with seven airbags, customisable voice alerts for speeding, ABS with EBD, and seatbelts with lap and retractor pre-tensioners for front seats.

Engine and gearbox

XUV700 will be powered by 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol Mahindra mStallion unit tuned to produce 200hp and 380Nm. Diesel is a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk turbocharged unit that will come in two states of tune. The lower state unit (reserved for the entry level version) will produce 155hp and 360Nm, while the unit in higher variants will churns out 185hp and 420Nm (450Nm with the automatic gearbox).

The diesel engine will offer four drive modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom.

Both engines will offer 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options. The lower-spec diesel will only come with a manual gearbox.
