Mahindra XUV700 - check out all the first-to-market features

SUV lovers have been awaiting the launch of the new generation Mahindra XUV 500 since last year. Mahindra is now all set to launch the much-awaited SUV in its new avatar and name - Mahindra XUV700.

Mahindra's moment has come to sizzle its game in the SUV segment. Mahindra XUV700 will be launched on 14 August 2021. The upcoming seven-seater will replace the current-generation XUV500. Mahindra has promised that the XUV700 will be a game-changer and it does seem to be very nicely designed and packed with features.

Not only that, Mahindra has claimed that XUV700 will come with several unique and first-to-market features. It will also be the first SUV to sport the latest Mahindra logo. So let's discover the unique features of the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 without wasting any more time.

Headlamps with automatic booster

It was Mahindra's first feature announcement. This function automatically activates an additional set of headlights whenever you drive over a dark roadway, increasing driver visibility and ensuring the safety of the passengers.

The segment's largest sunroof

The second feature revealed was the XUV700's biggest in-class sunroof, called the Panoramic Skyroof by Mahindra. The panoramic sky roof is 1360mm long and 870mm wide.

Personalized safety alerts

It will offer customized speed alert capabilities, which will allow you to configure the speed alert notification in the voice of a loved one. As a consequence, you'll never be too far away from your loved ones.

Smart door handles

Mahindra XUV700 will join the likes of Aston Martin DBX, Mercedes-Benz EQS, and certain Tesla and Jaguar models with pop-out smart door handles. When the car unlocks or the key is within a certain range of the car, the smart door handles will pop out. Once the car is moving or parked, it retracts and remains flush.

Twin-screen arrangement inspired by Mercedes

The Mahindra XUV700 is expected to have a dual-screen setup. This feature is inspires by the current generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class. It implies that the instrument cluster and infotainment system are contained inside the same frame.

Intelligent AdrenoX system

This intelligent system is developed by Mahindra and known as the manufacturer's operating system. AdrenoX's connection to Alexa enables voice commands to operate the sunroof, manage the Sony 3-D audio system, and swap between driving modes. Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom drive modes will be available on diesel versions exclusively.

Sony 3-D sound system

The Mahindra XUV700 is the only car in its class to feature a Sony sound system, and we are all familiar with the serenity of Sony's sound. The SUV is melodiously class-leading, especially with the 3-D option.

Drowsiness detection for drivers

It is another first-in-segment feature seen in sports and luxury cars such as Audi and Mercedes Benz. If the XUV700 detects your sleepiness or fatigue while driving, it will alert you through either a sudden steering jitter or a high-pitched beep.

Smart filtering technology

The Mahindra XUV700's interior will include a protective smart filtration technology that, according to Mahindra, would remove 99 percent of germs and 95% of viruses.

Engine options with Mahindra XUV700

The XUV700 will be available with a 2.0-liter turbo petrol or a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine. Petrol mill will be the most powerful version yet of Mahindra's new' mStallion' 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which debuted in the Mahindra Thar in 2020 with 150hp.

The engine has all-aluminum blocks with 350 direct bar injection. It will pair to either a six-speed manual transmission or an Aisin-sourced six-speed torque converter automatic transmission in the XUV700.

The XUV700's 2.0-litre mStallion engine will also be the class's most powerful petrol engine, with the Hyundai Alcazar's 2.0-litre normally aspirated petrol engine producing 159hp and the MG Hector Plus 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine generating 143hp. Tata Safari is not available with a petrol engine.

On the diesel front, XUV700 will use the trusted 2.2-liter Mahindra mHawk diesel engine, with power up to 185hp. It is also a leading power output, which makes the XU700 much stronger than the 115hp, 1.5-liter diesel Hyundai Alcazar, the Hector Plus, and the Safari with the same 170hp 2.0-liter diesel engine from Fiat.
