For the last several days, the Monson Mavunkal cheating scandal has dominated Kerala's news media. The infamous businessman and 'doctor' is charged with scamming clients to crores of rupees. However, this case became more interesting because he had artifacts of dubious authenticity and historical value. Mohanlal, Sreenivasan, MG Sreekumar, and senior police officials had already endorsed him. Now Kareena Kapoor Khan is dragged into the issue as well.
According to a source, the police discovered a Porsche Boxster in his hands while conducting an asset search. Interestingly, the Porsche Boxster was in the custody of the Cherthala Police Station. According to the authorities, the car does not have appropriate documentation and was one of 20 cars seized from Monson as part of the Sreevalsam scam.
The car is still registered in Maharashtra, indicating that Kareena Kapoor Khan purchased it in 2007. The details are unclear when it changed hands and whether or not the new owner changed the registration to a Kerala number and did not transfer it to his name. Mavunkal is in the custody of the Crime Branch for three days.
Few weeks back a similar case occurred where a Rolls-Royce registered in the name of Amitabh Bachchan was driven by some Bengaluru-based Salman Khan.
