After Ford's exit; a dealership is selling Maruti Suzuki cars

Last month Ford announced to stop manufacturing cars in India. It has left both customers and dealers on their own. However, Ford has promised to provide after sales service for the next 10 years even after its exit but Ford dealers have already started to look for other business opportunities to cover for massive losses and operational expenses.

In a viral picture, a Ford dealer was spotted selling a Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Alto and Dzire. This indicates how Ford dealers are coping up the America automakers exit from India.

Ford's exit was inevitable given its low sales and inability to find a manufacturing partner in India. It also tried to sell its manufacturing facility to other OEMs but couldn't find a buyer. But the news has been a shocker for Ford customers who were not aware about this drastic step. With shutting Ford showroom, it would become difficult to find a genuine Ford service station.

The Ford's promise to offering after sales service for the next 10 years is not quite convincing as the dealers have already started to look for new business opportunities. For dealerships it makes sense to switch to selling other brands' cars as there are no Ford models to sell anymore.

Ford will now operate in India to sell only niche imported models including Mustang, and Raptor among others.
