The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 get five new colour schemes and remain mechanically unchanged.
Royal Enfield has updated the Interceptor 600 and the Continental GT 650 with a bunch of new color schemes. The new line of colors includes Sunset Strip, Ventura Blue, Canyon Red, Mark Two and Downtown Drag. Buyers can also make use of the MiY Platform to spec their bikes with touring mirrors, sump guards, seats, flyscreen, and other accessories to personalize their ride.
Starting with the Interceptor 650, it gets blacked-out rims and mudguards in the single-tone colour options now. Alloy wheels and Tripper navigation aren’t offered on the RE 650 Twins, however, the carmaker will be offering them as official accessories very soon. Engine of the Interceptor continue to be powered by the same BS6 compliant, 648cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin motor, which develops a peak power of 47.65 PS and a maximum torque of 52 Nm at 5250 rpm.
Transmission duties is controlled by a 6-speed sequential gearbox, and a slipper clutch is offered as standard. In terms of pricing, it will begin at Rs 2.75 lakh (single-tone), Rs 2.83 lakh (dual-tone) and Rs 2.91 lakh for the chrome variant. All prices are ex-showroom all India. Each model is roughly Rs 6000 costlier than the old one.
The Continental GT 650 now gets the iconic Rocker Red colour scheme along with a striking British Racing Green colour finish for the single-tone variants. The dual-tone variants will get two new options, namely, the Dux Deluxe and Ventura Storm. The chrome variant on the GT 650 is still being called Mister Clean that has been updated slightly. Price range for the Continental GT 650 begins at Rs 2.91 lakh (single-tone), Rs 2.99 lakh (dual-tone) and Rs 3.13 lakh (chrome finish).
Also, Royal Enfield is planning to launch next-gen Classic 350 and a new 650cc cruiser in the Indian market this year. Classic 650 is also in the making, and the manufacturer had previously stated that it would also help in developing an electric motorbike in the coming future.
