Kia has finally announced the launch of updated Sonet alongside its bigger sibling the Seltos in the Indian car market.
The Kia India has officially announced the new edition of Sonet subcompact SUV and Sonet in the Indian market. With the model year change the Sonet has managed to gain a series of fresh updates inside out. Both the cars has gained Kia's new brand logo that resides on its bonnet, alloy wheels, steering and tailgate.
Apart from this, the automaker has also introduced iMT technology on the updated Seltos, which will be available in the 1.5-litre petrol HTK+ variant. The updated Seltos will be available in total of 16 variants and refreshed Sonet will come in a total of 17 variants. The company is now accepting bookings for both the SUVs at its authorized dealerships across the country.
Paddle shifters
One of the most prominent upgrades on the refreshed editions of Seltos and Sonet, is the introduction of ‘Paddle Shifters’ for quick gear shifts to enable sportier and more responsive driving experience. It will be available in the GTX+ 1.5D 6AT and 1.4T-GDI 7DCT variants in the refreshed Seltos, and in all automatic variants in refreshed Sonet.
Safety
Safety features such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Assist Control (HAC) are now brought to the lower variants in the Sonet as well as Seltos. Moreover, several drive and traction modes are now available in the high-spec variants of the SUV.
Features
There are many high-end features that have made their way into the lower features of new Sonet. These features include a Remote engine start, an Electric sunroof, Chrome door handles, a Smart key with a push-button start, and Crystal cut alloys with silver wheel caps. Select variants of the Kia Sonet have gained the first-in-segment Rear Door Sunshade Curtain, first-in-segment Voice Assist Sunroof Open/Close feature.
The updated edition of Seltos has been launched with 17 new enhancements such as first-in-segment Smart Pure Air Purifier with ‘Virus and Bacteria’ Protection, Wireless Phone projection, Over the Air (OTA) map update, Remote Engine Start in Manual transmission, and Additional Voice Commands on UVO connected car system among others.
Price
Pricing of the new Sonet SUV starts from Rs 6,79,000 (ex-showroom, pan-India) for the entry-level HTE 5MT feature and extends upto Rs 11,75,000. The new Seltos come with a price tag of Rs 9,95,000 (ex-showroom).
