Volkswagen reduces service cost of its cars by up to 25%

In a bid to gain a larger pie of Indian car market, Volkswagen has announced to reduce the service cost of its cars.

It is not hidden that Volkswagen has revamped its strategy for the Indian car market. It has already planned to launch its compact SUV Taigun on its highly localized MQB-A0-IN platform specifically developed for the Indian market. It will help Volkswagen to offer its product range more cost efficiently.

However, that's not the only thing Volkswagen is doing. In its bid to grab a bigger pie of the Indian car market, the german car manufacturer has now announced reduction in service costs for its entire car lineup. It will also offer new initiatives for better customer support.

In India, Volkswagen cars are infamous for their high servicing costs and spare parts. Now, the german car company aims to change this perception. It has stated that Volkswagen car parts will now be available at cheaper prices by up to 11 percent. It has also reduced the cost of engine oil by up to 32 percent.

Engine oil is something that is changed or topped up periodically. Hence, it will significantly reduce the maintenance cost of Volkswagen cars. The company claims that the servicing costs of cars like Vento or Polo will go down by up to 25 percent. Reduced servicing costs will also apply on the upcoming Taigun. Old car owners including Ameo, Jetta, Passat, Polo GTI, and more can also avail cheaper services. Right now Volkswagen sell four car models in India including Vento, Polo, T-Roc, and Tiguan Allspace.

The company has also launched a service cost calculator you can access on its official website to help you get a rough idea of the estimated service cost. It will ensure to keep the pricing consistent across India. It has also introduced Volkswagen Service Cam to inform its customers and take approval for additional repairs during the service.

Volkswagen has also increased the reach of mobile service units to cover around 80 percent of Indian geography. Mobile units will help customers avail small repair work and inspection at their doorstep. It can also help customers stuck with their cars at remote locations.
