Toyota has teased its first EV "X-Prologue"

X-Prologue will be based on e-TNGA platform. It will also support rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive setups.

Japanese vehicle manufacturer, Toyota has finally teased its first fully electric-powered vehicle, the ‘X-Prologue’. It is expected to launch globally on 17 March, 2021. However, Toyota is tight lipped about all the details of the vehicle.

But if we analyze older images teased by Toyota, the EV is expected to be based on e-TNGA platform. It will also support rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive setups. The platform is also equipped to underpin large and compact sized crossovers, sedan, and minivan. All the models are expected to have a new name. The platform is also capable of handling multiple variety of battery packs and electric motors.

Design

As per the images, Toyota X-Prologue will feature C-shaped LED head lamps and a futuristic and chiselled look. The subtle curves and crease running across the body will prevent it from looking bulky. More details will come only after the launch.

At present, Toyota is expected to limit the sales of X-Prologue in Europe only. It will be manufactured at Toyota's EV-only factory in Japan. This gives a signal that Toyota might launch the EV in Japan as well.

CarInfo hopes that Toyota will consider launching its EV in the Indian market soon.
