Top 6 Cars available only in the used car market

Some car models discontinued before we could get a chance to own them. Has this happened with you as well? Don't worry. You can own these top 6 cars from the used car market.

We've seen a few cars over the last decade that have made a lasting impact on us. While some remain profitable, others were forced to exit from the market as a result of tighter emissions rules and manufacturers' inability to continue selling.

If you're in the market for such a car, the used car market may be your best bet. The following six cars are available exclusively on the used car market.

1. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Diesel

One of the most popular SUVs on the market is the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. At present, SUVs are only available in the petrol version, but if you want to get your hands on the popular diesel model, you'll need to purchase a used car. Maruti's 1.3-liter DDIS engine can be acquired between Rs 550,000 and Rs 950,000 depending on the model year and condition of the SUV.

2. Volkswagen Polo GT TSI (DSG)

The Polo GT TSI is still regarded as a reliable option for those in the market for a budget performance car. Compared to the previous version, which included a DSG automatic transmission, the current version has a torque converter unit, which is an excellent choice.

However, if your budget limited, or you want a particularly popular DSG version of your car, consider the used car market. A used Polo GT TSI with a DSG automatic transmission is available for between 600,000 to 800,000 rupees.

3. Honda Civic

The Honda Civic from the past generation is arguably one of the most searched cars in India's used car market. Honda launched a new generation model in India, however it removed earlier this year after a review of the production plan of Honda. The older models are available for as little as Rs 150,000. Auto replacement parts are not easily available and should be taken into account while making a purchase decision.

4. Renault Duster Diesel

The Renault Duster Diesel is another capable small diesel SUV available exclusively through the used car market. The SUV's 84bhp and 108bhp engines provided exceptional performance and drivability. The all-wheel drive option is also available. A decent quality duster would cost between 4.4 lakh and 7 lakh.

5. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross 1.6

The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, along with the 1.6-liter DDIS 320 diesel variant, is one of the most undervalued cars in the compact crossover / SUV segment. When combined with the crossover's superb drivability, the strong diesel engine created a great package, but poor demand caused the company to discontinue engine options.

However, because of low sales in India, the available units are relatively limited but still accessible on the used car market. The used S-Cross 1.6 would cost between Rs 550,000 and Rs 80,0000, depending on the car's condition and model year.

6. Tata Safari Storme 4×4

The absence of a 4x4 system on the latest generation Tata Safari is a major disappointment for Indian safari enthusiasts. While SUVs are well-known for their four-wheel drive capabilities, and you can get a nice one on the used car market, a new Safari Storme is easier to maintain, so it's a smart idea to look for a new one rather than an older one. You may get a decent one for between Rs 400,000 and Rs 800,000 depending on the model year and condition.
