Third gen Hyundai Elite i20 is now reaching dealerships as it nears its launch in the first week of November.
Third gen Hyundai Elite i20 has now started knocking the doors of dealerships. The much awaited hot hatchback is expected to be launched in first week of November 2020. As per news reports, some dealerships have even started accepting unofficial pre-launch bookings for Rs 25,000.
Exteriors
Upcoming third-gen premium hatchback will come with more sharper exteriors and a tauter stance. The front fascia is now equipped with a large grille along with sleek projector headlamps and bright fog lamps. The rear of the car will have a set of triangular connected tail lamps.
Interiors
Interiors of new-gen i20 will offer a minimalistic design theme. It will offer a flat-bottom steering, semi-digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with Bose sound system. It will also offer a sunroof. It will also come equipped with BlueLink connected car tech. You can use it for various functions including remote cabin pre-cool and start/stop. It will also offer wireless charging, multiple airbags, air purifier and climate control among others.
Engine
New-gen Elite i20 will share the engines with Hyundai's compact SUV Venue. It will also offers a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit (120PS/172Nm). The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will offer 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque. 1.5-litre diesel will churn out 100PS and 240Nm.
Hyundai is expected to offer the 1.2-litre petrol engine with 5-speed MT and a 6-speed MT diesel engine. Only turbo-petrol unit will offer a 6-speed MT, 7-speed DCT, and 6-speed iMT clutchless manual options.
Price
Hyundai is expected to price the third-gen Elite i20 from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza, VW Polo, and Honda Jazz.
