Tesla Cybertruck Is All The Rage Right Now!

Polarising design, controversial launch event and memes all over the internet has made Tesla Cybertruck an instant rage all over the internet. People are either stunned or baffled with Tesla’s latest EV offering.

Is the pickup truck worth the money? Let us find out what Tesla’s all-electric vehicle has to offer.

Specifications

Cybertruck’s single motor variant can reach 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and can tow a load of upto 7,500 pounds. It can also carry 3,500 pounds of load in its base guise. The two motor model will reach 60 mph in 4.5 seconds with the capability to tow up to 10,000 pounds. The three-motor variant will get past 60 mph mark in just 2.9 seconds and can tow up to 14,000 pounds.

The range of the truck will vary from 250 to 500 miles depending upon the motor setup and battery capacity. All models will come equipped with adaptive air suspension setup for ride height adjustment up to 16 inches and self levelling.

Cybertruck offers a roomy cabin and is functional through Tesla’s signature 17 inch central touchpad.

Bulletproof?

In its launch, Elon Musk claimed that Cybertruck is resistant to 9mm bullet fired from either a machine gun or handgun. Tesla has used “ultra-hard, cold-rolled stainless-steel alloy”  in Cybertrucks exoskeleton that was primarily designed for SpaceX’s Starship rocket. Tesla’ design chief Franz Von Holzhausen demonstrated the durability of body by hitting its door through a sledgehammer with no visible effects.

It is also equipped with armoured glass. However, in the infamous on-stage demonstration the window glasses broke when Von Holzhausen hit them by a bug steel ball. But other demos were able to validate the strength of the glass.

Design

Cybertruck is  231.7 inches long, 79.8 inches wide and 75 inches tall. It can comfortably seat six adults. Its dimensions match to conventional trucks including F-150, Ram 1500 and Silverado 1500.

It can decently tread on off-roads with a 35-degree approach angle and a 28-degree departure angle along with up to 16 inches of ground clearance. However, these dimensions coupled with its radical design could make it a difficult vehicle to park in tight spaces.

Besides, people who make their vehicle buying decisions by factoring in visual aesthetics might not like Tesla’s electric truck altogether. Having said that. It is a great option for people who are looking for something surprising, futuristic, and thoroughly avant-garde in their garage.
