Tata Motors has yet to make the formal announcement about the Tiago CNG launch in India. However, according to sources, the new Tata Tiago CNG will be available in India in early January. The pre-booking process has even begun at some of the company's approved dealerships.
The Tiago has a three-cylinder, naturally aspirated BS6 compliant 1.2 liters, three-cylinder engine. This engine delivers 86 hp and 113 Nm of torque @ 6000 RPM. In addition to the usual 5-speed manual gearbox, the AMT version of the engine is also available. The upcoming Tata Tiago CNG will feature a detuned version of this petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Tata Tiago XT, XZ+, XZ, XE, and Dual-tone XZ+ petrol-only models are currently available. Ex-showroom Delhi prices ranges from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 7.04 lakh. Only the Tiago XT and XZ may get the new CNG-powered hatchback from Tata Motors. Expected CNG version to cost between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000 more than the petrol models.
