Tata Punch - Brand's smallest SUV launched

Tata Punch is the first SUV built on ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture) platform.

Tata Motors is all set to present a brilliant gift this Diwali. The much-awaited concept Tata HBX is named as ‘Punch’, the brand's new micro-SUV and released an image of the SUV in production spec. It is positioned below Nexon. It's said that there's still much more to learn about its features and other details.

Tata Punch will be the first SUV to be built on ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture) platform, developed under the Impact 2.0 design language.

In terms of looks, it features brand's signature Y design and houses a pair of fog lamps that looks aggressive especially at the front end. It also offers a three tri-arrow pattern. It is surrounded by the LED DRLs along with the main headlamp units.

The car also comes with a set of stylish looking dual-tone alloy wheels and roof rails. The revealed model comes in a dual-tone exterior paint also creates a nice floating effect on the roof.

We also expect the new Punch to come with the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that does duty on the Altorz premium hatchback. The 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Turbo motor will churn out 85 bhp and 113 Nm of power figures. Transmission options will come with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional AMT unit.

The Punch is likely to be priced around ₹4 lakh, ex-showroom. As far as rival go, prices can be a little upwards of ₹7 lakh for the top trim.

The new Tata Punch will compete the likes of Mahindra KUV100, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Ford Freestyle and upcoming Hyundai Casper.
