Speed limit on Yamuna Expressway decreased. Violation to attract 2000

Government has revised the speed limit on Yamuna Expressway to prevent accidents or mishappening due to winter fog from December 15 to February 15, 2023. The new speed limit for light vehicle is 80 km/hour, whereas for heavy vehicles it's 60 km/hour. The violation of new speed will attract a penalty of Rs 2,000.

The Yamuna Expressway is one of the busiest road networks connecting cities like Agra, Delhi, Mathura, and Noida via six lane expressway.

Frequent accidents on Yamuna Expressway is a matter of concern nowadays. The situations worsens every winter when the highway is covered in extreme fog. Due to poor visibility, the fatal accidents happen.

The Expressway has CCTV cameras installed at regular intervals to check the speed of vehicles. The authority is taking preventive measures by asking toll operators to set up crash operators.
