Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Company have formed a partnership for the development of EVs and sell battery-powered electric vehicles. These two Japanese multinational companies will launch a “new company” through a joint venture before the end of 2022.
The main of this partnership is to bring together the expertise of Honda in vehicle manufacturing and Sony's technological skills. The mixture of these two companies is expected to bring environment-friendly mobility and services. The first EV is under process which will be launched in 2025.
All the sales strategies including designing, planning, development will all be handled by the new company under the JV. But, the manufacturing will only be handled by Honda at the initial stage.
Further details are not being disclosed till now and the final JV agreement will take place within this year.
