Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari made an announcement on Tuesday that wearing seat belts would be made mandatory for all the passengers in a car. The draft notification will be released in next 3-4 days.
The new rule can also penalise anyone for not wearing seat belts while on the rear seats in a vehicle.

This rule came into effect after the Cyrus Mistry fatal accident on Sunday. The incident occurred when his car crashed into a road divider of Charoti bridge over the Surya river in Palghar.
Meanwhile, the government is also planing to make six airbags mandatory in all vehicles.
