Ola Foundation and GiveIndia will scale it up across the country with up to 10,000 concentrators in the coming weeks.
Ola Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Ola, has announced that it has partnered with GiveIndia, the donation platform to assist users with oxygen concentrators for free of cost that will be available shortly through Ola mobile app.
The said service will begin rolling out in the next week and will expand across India in the coming weeks with an initial set of 500 oxygen concentrators. Also, Ola and GiveIndia will increase the number of concentrators across the country with up to 10,000 units of concentrators. Ola also covered the COVID-19 vaccination cost for all dependents and employees, as the world continues to fight against the second wave of the pandemic.
Consumers have to log into the Ola app and request for an oxygen concentrator by providing few basic details. Once the details are validated, Ola will then pick up the concentrator through one of its cabs with a specially trained driver and will drop it at the user's doorstep.
When the patient feels better and no longer requires the concentrator, Ola will pick the device back up and return it to GiveIndia to urge it to prepare for other patient who needs it. Ola will not charge users for its transportation and the concentrator and this whole experience will be seamless.
Companies like Rapido and Uber have also come forth to facilitate and help their users in the pandemic. Uber and Rapido provide cost-free rides to eligible users to and from the vaccination centres. Uber users can apply promo code 10M21V from the wallet section of the app. Once the users enter the promo code, it will be added to their ride.
