Nissan Magnite is a car between a hatchback and compact SUV

Nissan Magnite is strategically built to attract buyers who can spend more than a hatchback buyer and but less than a compact SUV buyer.

Nissan India has finally launched the Nissan Magnite. It is one of the eight models that Nissan has planned to launch in the Indian, African, and Middle-Eastern markets to streamline operations and improve profitability.

Nissan Magnite Styling

Nissan Magnite features the latest 2D Nissan logo. The face of Magnite carries a full-face hexagonal mesh grille, sharply cut full LED headlamps, and L-shaped DRLs. It comes with a unique funnel roof design that Nissan claims will make Maginite one of the most aerodynamically efficient compact SUVs in India.

Its top trim will come with a set of 16-inch wheels. Things like functional roof rack is some of other worth noting touches. Nissan Magnite will offer the segment best unladen ground clearance of 205mm and a 5.0m turning radius.

Nissan Magnite Interiors and features

The Magnite is built on Renault-Nissan's CMF-A platform. Head, knee, and shoulder room in the front is close to what we see in some sub-four-metre SUVs. It also offers seat height and steering reach adjustment.

The cabin comes in an all-black colour scheme and a contemporary looking dashboard along with hexagonal air vents. It offers newly-developed 8-inch infotainment system and integrated displays for AC control within the rotary knobs.

Magnite also offers a 7-inch digital display for driver panel along with all controls on the steering wheel. It also offers wireless charging, 10-litre glove box, 12V sockets for both rows and a USB charger for the front passenger.

Other worth noting features include a 360-degree camera with changeable views,  TPMS, industry-first wireless Android Auto/ Apple Carplay compatibility, cruise control, and more. It will also give the option of a Tech pack that will add an air purifier, ambient lighting, puddle lamps, and premium audio.

Nissan Magnite Engine and safety

Nissan has stated that the Magnite will be powered by the HRA0 power plant. However, there is no clarity on the engine output. It is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. It is expected the engine will be tune in its most common configuration of 100PS and 152 Nm guise. Other engine options are yet to be revealed by Nissan.

In terms of safety, Nissan has revealed that Magnite will offer two airbags, hill-start assist, ABS, and traction control. It will also offer unique Vehicle Dynamics Control system.

Nissan is expected to launch the base variant of Magnite at around Rs 5 lakh to bridge the price gap between the likes of Mahindra KUV 100 and Tata Nexon.
