Maruti Suzuki has announced that the new-gen of Celerio will hit Indian markets tomorrow, on November 10, 2021. Official bookings for the same have already started since November 2 for ₹ 11,000. The manufacturer will declare the variant-wise pricing for the car in an event tomorrow.
The company has not shared much details, however claimed that it will be the "most efficient petrol car" in India. Suzuki has said that the new Celerio deliver mileage of 26kmpl.
Interior
The 2021 Celerio will come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen compatible with AppleCarPlay and Android Auto. It is also equipped with a multi-spoke steering wheel along with push start/stop button with idle start/stop function.
Safety
For safety, it comes with two front airbags, reversing sensor camera on the console panel, and ABS brakes with EBS, ISOFIX Anchors
Engine
Upcoming Celerio will offer four-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol engine which produces 83 hp and 113 Nm of peak torque. It will also provide a new three-cylinder 1.0-litre K10C series to improve its fuel efficiency. Both engines will have transmission options of five-speed manual gearbox or an automated manual transmission.
Exterior
As far as the design is concerned, the exterior has been revamped. It gets a new an oval shaped grille with a chrome bar extending across its length all the way, a new bumper, flared wheel arches, air intakes in black plastic, and LED highlights.
Pricing
The price of new Celerio is likely to start around ₹4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The old-gen Celerio was priced at a starting price of ₹4.66 lakh (ex-showroom) and went up to ₹6.1 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the Datsun GO, Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, and Tata Tiago.
