New-Gen Hyundai i20 set to be launched today

Hyundai has launched the new generation of i20. The premium hatchback will be BS6 compliant and offer connected car features.

The new generation Hyundai i20 is finally launched on November 5, 2020. Hyundai has already revealed the international-spec of the third generation i20 earlier this year. The model for India will receive the majority of the features and styling from the international model.

Interiors

It will come with striking looks and promises a more premium and connected cabin. The sketches revealed earlier reflect that the company emphasized a horizontal layout and a stretched out dashboard with a floating type infotainment screen.

The hatchback will also come equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster along with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with an up-right and floating design. The touchscreen also features the brand's latest iteration of ‘Bluelink' connected technology along with AI assistance.

Exteriors

The new i20 will come with a sharper design with bold styling and a host of premium features, including connected car technology. It now looks sleeker and aggressive as compared to its previous-gen model.

Apart from essential features, the model could come equipped with projector headlamps, cascading grille, Z-shaped LED tail lights, dual-tone alloy wheels, a large touchscreen infotainment system, electronic sunroof, wireless charging, and second-row AC vents.

Engine

As for powertrain options, the car will get the same 1.2-litre NA petrol motor, 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor, and a 1.5-litre diesel motor that comes with the Hyundai Venue. Transmission duties will include both manual and automatic options.

Available colors

Hyundai will offer customers a wide choice of color options on the all-new i20 including, polar white, typhoon silver, titan grey, fiery red, starry night, and metallic copper.

Price

The car is expected to be priced between 6.50-10 lakh. For bookings, the customers can go to the 'Hyundai Click to Buy' platform or at Hyundai Dealerships across the country and book their cars at Rs 21,000.

CarInfo thinks that the brand new Hyundai i20 is set to give tough competition to segment leader Maruti Suzuki Baleno and other models including Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo among others.q
