New apple watch, iPhone can detect car crashes and call for help

Apple has launched a new batch of iPhones and watches along with the latest A16 Bionic chip, watchOS 9, and iOS 16. Also, apple has launched new health and safety feature, Crash Detection, that uses sensors and microphones to identify accidents, Apple Watch upgrades, and alongside iPhone.

It means that if the devices have detected that the user is in a car crash, they will automatically send emergency notification to contacts and services if the user doesn't respond to the screen within 10 seconds.

This feature is available on whole iPhone 14 range with the all new Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE, and all-new Apple Watch Ultra.

The barometer detects cabin pressure changes, whereas the GPS adds input on speed changes. On the other hand, the microphone can recognise loud noises that are related to car crashes.
