MS Dhoni buys a 1971 Land Rover Series 3 Station Wagon in an online auction organized by pre-owned premium car seller, Big Boy Toyz (BBT). It has both new and old cars. However, Indian cricketer MS Dhoni bought the Land Rover. There were 19 cars listed on the platform of online auction, Chevrolets, Mercedes, Rolls Royces, Cadillacs, etc.
Though Dhoni's Land Rover Series 3 Station Wagon is very popular in India but is rare to found. It is finished in yellow color. It has 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine to a 3.5-litre V8 mated with a four-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed manual transfer case. But, it's not clear that which version of engine has purchased Dhoni.
The founder and MD of BBT said, "Vintage Cars and Classic Cars are a multi-billion dollar industry globally. We are the first company to introduce it in an organised and efficient way in India. Moreover, the company revealed that the auction began with Volkswagen Beetle for ₹ 1 lakh and went up to ₹ 25 lakh. Meanwhile, the company claimed that they want to strengthen its vintage and classic cars division and aim to expand the same into an ₹ 100 crore in upcoming years.
The company is planning to conduct online auction of these cars after every two months. The next auction will be conducted in February 2022 with a fresh stalk.
