Maruti Suzuki Swift review

Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the top-selling hatchbacks in India. Coupled with practicality and reliable performance, it is the first preference of car buyers in India.

Maruti Suzuki Swift is a brand in itself. It is one of the best-known, best-selling and balanced cars on Indian roads in its third generation. The Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched as a new model at the 2018 Auto Expo and remains the top notch Maruti Suzuki model in India. More than 12,000 Swift cars are sold on average every month, making them among the top three most sold cars. So let’s look in detail, what makes it a desirable and high-selling car of the Maruti Suzuki.

Here in this article, we will see a detailed review of the Maruti Suzuki Swift car. We will have a look at the interior, exterior, engine, pricing as well as other important aspects related to this car.

Exterior

Despite its brand new design, the Maruti Suzuki Swift keeps the silhouette of the preceding model. However the aggressive body position has changed, making the Swift one of India's best looked hatchbacks. Compared with the old model, the new Swift has a 20 mm length wheelbase and a 40 mm wider body.

The front has a new black-finished grille with new headlight LEDs, which gives an overtly aggressive appearance to the hatch. The real fun, however, is on the back of the panels and the C-section tail lights make the segment the best. The side has a floating roof and black door handles with columns, which take some space to accommodate.

Interior

With a touch of silver accents, the new interior inspired by the cockpit of the Maruti Suzuki Swift is made all-black in finishing. The three rotary digital AC knobs look lovely, future-oriented and practical. Add to it the flat base steering wheel helps to reach a different level of the overall internal aesthetics. There are also features such as an Apple Car Play, Android Auto and Mirror Link touchscreen infotainment system. But a basic unit without a touchscreen system is found in the unit we drive.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift still has the best ergonomic and comfortable seats with regard to space and comfort. The side supports are improved to keep you tight, but can cause some difficulty for people with heavy thighs. The rear seats can be used for three adults easily.

Safety

There are many new safety features provided in the Maruti Suzuki Swift car. As far as safety is concerned, the new Swift is packed with dual airbags, ABS and EBD. This car is a completely safe car to drive.

Engine

A K12 VVT Petrol and the DDiS 190 diesel engine option are provided for the new Maruti Suzuki Swift. The Swift petrol has recently been modified by Maruti as BS6 compatible. A manual 5-speed gearbox is also available.

Both the 1.2 L gasoline and 1.3 diesel engines are beautifully refined and designed to make your driving feel sporty. The Petrol Manual and the diesel AMT variants were driven and we were impressed by its performance by both the cars. The all-new Swift has dropped its weight by 85 kilogrammes compared to the older Swift with the new platform which has made an enormous contribution to improving car efficiency. On the twisty roads, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift proved very smooth. The gasoline engine produces maximum output of 83 hp and the max output of the diesel engine unit is 75 hp.

The new Swift has a very refined NVH level and is built on the 5th generation HEARTECT platform. The AGS makes a bit of noise, but is good for urban driving otherwise, while accelerating very quickly. The overall handling of the new Swift is accurate and you will be happy to use the steering wheel. Swift can deliver 20 kmpl when driven carefully.

Price

The Maruti Suzuki Swift, based on a buyers’ preference, begins with Rs 5.14 lakh (Ex-showroom) and has a variety in its offer. The price of this car is in the moderate range and it is a quite affordable option for people who want to own a stylish hatchback with a peppy engine.
