Mahindra XUV 700 Review: Features-packed with level-1 autonomous driving

XUV700 is one of the most technologically advanced vehicles in its segment. Competitive pricing and oodles of safety features make it a great buy.

The Mahindra XUV 700 is one of the company's best vehicles that they have introduced so far. This is perhaps the most important SUV launches, and if you want a 5 or 7 passenger SUV, it should be at the very top of your list. Let us have a look at the quick review of Mahindra XUV 700. We will look into the design, interiors, engine options as well as other important details related to this model.

Design

The style of the XUV 700 is mature, with smoother lines and a more balanced design. It has a 30mm cap and a robust, vertical twin bar grille which gives it a distinct look on the road. The external vertical bars bend to the headlight cluster. The new 'Twin Peaks' emblem by Mahindra looks great and is located in the centre of a grille.  The XUV 700 has a great appearance and the proper aesthetics for the target customer. Although the design is not as sophisticated as its competitors. However, it contains all the details necessary for individuals seeking a robust design.

Interior

The interior design is enticing with a display table extending across half the dashboard. An all-digital instrument panel measuring 10.25 cm with a centre touchscreen can be found in the interior of this car.  The dashboard plastics are decent and the leather band looks great. Mahindra has graciously kept HVAC control buttons and dials.  The mobile phone holding racks, placed on the central console, one of which is a wireless charger, are quite sophisticated. In the present smartphone age, comfortable storage for two phones can be very handy.

Mahindra XUV700 Interiors

The steering wheel feels good at holding and the buttons are very functional. The jazzy instrument panel is nicely decorated with colours. The XUV700 has also a newly launched AdrenoX infotainment system which is the most advanced and feature-packed infotainment system. It is full of functions and options, including some local applications such as JustDial and Zomato.

The XUV700 also marks the arrival of Mahindra into the luxury sound sector with a great Sony 3D audio system, a 13-channel amplification, with one subwoofer and 12 speakers. And then there is the Alexa Voice Assistant, which follows your voice directions. Alexa is now integrated into the entire connected car experience so that you can also ask for alarms and updates.

Engine and Performance

Both the 6-speed, manual, and automatic gearbox options are available with petrol and diesel engines. While the 155hp diesel engine only comes in the basic version, higher versions come with the 2.2-litre engine, which generates 185hp.  The new petrol engine replaces the 140hp and 2.2-liter petrol unit of the XUV500. The 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine works great in XUV 700. It has an aluminum body and has a peak torque of 420Nm. The weight is also below 200 kg. It's impressive how it carries over the 1700 kg vehicle. The mark of 100kmph arrives in no time.

Safety Features

Mahindra has recently made great efforts in the field of security. The crash test results of XUV700 are excellent. The company has invested a lot in active safety, and the XUV700 features a complete ADAS package.

The system uses a camera as well as radar, both of which function extremely well when paired to FCW and AEB. The system also uses an autonomous emergency brake system. The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), which allows you to follow a car safely ahead of you, is also very impressive.  A new safety warning can be configured with any person's voice to remind you to slow down when you get to a certain speed.

The drivers' drowsiness detection, auto high-beam support, and booster headlights that raise lights over 80kph are some of the additional active safety measures. More active safety features include the ABS and ESP, while seven airbags, including the knee airbag, are passive.

Final Verdict

The starting price of the XUV 700 cannot be ignored. The base price of XUV700 is about Rs. 11.99 Lakhs for the petrol manual version. The XUV700 is a very tempting package, with different variants and costs in mind. The great engine blows away the competitors, it is easy to drive, and the incredible features list and technology will definitely attract your attention. Attractive features, safety, and competitive pricing make XUV700 a great value for money proposition.
