Mahindra XUV 300 Review

Mahindra XUV 300 offers loads of practicality and creature comfort features. It is pitted against the likes of Vitara Brezza, Eco Sport, Nexon, and more.

XUV 300 is an impeccable combination of style and a powerful engine. It comes with a promise of comfortable ride and confident handling along with fuel efficiency, highway cruising capabilities and easy city drivability.

It has recently reduced its price by up to Rs 72,000 to elevate its sale in this range as compared to other cars. The new BS6 version has incorporated many features as compared to the old BS4.

Exterior

Mahindra XUV300 is available in 7 colors: Pearl White, Dual-tone Red Rage, Aquamarine, Napoli Black, Sunburst Orange, Dual-tone Aquamarine, and Red Rage. It comes with a body colored ORVMs and an electric sunroof with anti-pinch which lets you enjoy the scenery outside while driving. Moreover, it provides a sense of space and luxury to the car. The car comes with a front parking sensor, which warns about hidden obstructions close to the front bumper of the car. It is a very handy feature to help park the car in the tight spaces.

XUV 300 has a squared-off stance. The wheels which are pushed right towards at each end and the tires - 215/55 17-inches, are substantial. This helps in keeping the car planted through the corners. There might be some body roll, but body movements are confident in regular driving. There is no sloppiness that can be felt in its more basic, ladder frame cousins. The suspension has a slight tautness to it which reduces vertical movements drastically.

Interior

XUV 300 comes with an eye-catching all-black panel. It’s top-end variant is provided with a soft-touch leather on the dashboard and doors, making its interiors comfy. The black dashboard is in contrast to the tan quilted premium leather with a unique stitch design that makes the interiors look effortless and impressive.

The car comes with the longest wheelbase of 2600mm which ensures more leg space and great in-cabin space and a striking LED light signature. The DRLs are raised upwards towards the headlamps which also have upward sweep and merge neatly with the grille.

The Steering inputs are effortless and light in the Comfort setting. In Sport mode, enough weight is provided to give more confidence in a spirited driving. The middle normal setting is too middle-of-the-way with no considerable advantage. The EPS is precise and direct in its interactions with the front wheels.

XUV300 offers Dual-Zone Automatic AC allows the driver and co-driver to set temperatures independently, thereby maximizing the comfort for all.

It provides a lot of storage space with a raised boot floor.

Safety Features

USP of XUV 300 is the numerous first-in-class features that it comes with it. There is a strong focus on safety. Dual airbags and rear disc brakes are standard, but other safety tech offered are seven airbags on the top-spec car, hill hold, seat belt reminders and a front parking sensor as mentioned earlier.

Engine Options

XUV300 has a 1.5 turbocharged motor which at 3,750 rpm makes 117PS and puts out 300Nm of torque between 1,500 to 2,500rpm. The car has a distinct torque advantage over its competitors with the same specification. The SUV can shuffle around the city at low speed without getting bogged down. There is a minimal lag with sharp throttle inputs. It has swathes of reserve torque and overtaking other vehicles on the highway is not a hassle. The motor is quite refined and not intrusively noisy, making long distance, triple digit runs a relaxed experience.

Pricing

Mahindra XUV 300 offers various variants like W4,W6,W8,W8 (O) with the price range varying from 7.94 Lakhs to 10.96 lakhs
