Recently, Kia India has launched BS6 Phase II compliant version for the Sonet, Seltos, and Carens in country. The updated version now comes with enhanced with petrol powertrain features which is compatible to E20 fuel. The BS6 Phase II emission norms will come into effect from April 1, 2023 in India.
The 2023 Kia Carens MPV equipped with a new Smartstream G1.5 T-GDi turbo petrol engine. It is capable to generate 160PS of power and 253 Nm of peak torque between 1500 to 3500 rpm. Whereas, the Sonet's petrol engine remains same. The 1.5L CRDi WGT diesel engine has been replaced with 1.5L CRDi VGT engine.
The 6-speed iMT is also available as standard in diesel and petrol turbo variants of all Kia India models.
The Kia Carens will have a starting price tag of Rs 10.45 to Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Whereas, the Sonet is priced between Rs 7.79-14.89 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.
