Hyundai Elantra Review

Elantra is Hyundai's flagship sedan in the Indian car market. It offers spacious interiors, eye-grabbing exteriors, and high performance.

Elantra is the flagship sedan from Hyundai. This luxury sedan features stunning looks and a host of creature comforts. Furthermore, Hyundai is also offering zero interest funding on this model, making it even more irresistible. The Elantra sedan was last revamped in 2017 and was refreshed in 2019 with new styling and other improvements. In 2020, the Elantra comes with a new intelligent continuous variable transmission (CVT). The turbo-laden trim levels Eco and Sport continue to use a double-clutch (DCT) transmission, but the standard manual gearbox is not present now.

Here in this article, we are going to have a comprehensive review of Hyundai Elantra car. We will cover all the important aspects related to this car like its exterior, interior and available engine options. The details related to safety features and pricing of this car will also be discussed.

Exterior

Hyundai loves how their cars look. The revised design details certainly make the car more attractive and the 17-inch larger alloy wheels look particularly pleasant. The 14.4-feet Elantra trunk is not as wide as a mid-size car but close to it. Thus, we can conclude that the Hyundai Elantra is a compact car with attractive exterior. In fact the attractive look is a big plus point of this car.

Interior

Interior is also a plus on the list of Elantra’s strengths. It is equipped with plenty of silver contrast, including beautiful accents. The controls in the interior are laid out clearly marked and easy to use. In a soothing blue hue they glow at night. The inside of Elantra is largely panelled in plastic, and not everything looks good, as you should expect from a mid-size sedan.

Wrapped in leather, the front and rear seats of Elantra are very comfortable. The seat of the driver can be adjusted in 8 directions and the front passenger's seat offers a height adjustment. That's fantastic, as it makes getting into and out of the car easier.

The car has an 8" touchscreen display infotainment system and a navigation system, equipped with an optional Ultimate Package. The 7-inch display is used for other trim levels except for the base SE, which is equipped with a 5-inch display.

SEL trim, the Value Edition and Limited edition include a generous trial subscription of three years for the connected Blue Link services, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and SiriusXM satellite radio. Limited trim also includes an Infinity Premium Sound System and a Wireless smartphone charging Pad.  The Elantra infotainment system is intuitive to use thanks to stereo buttons and a number of shortcut buttons on the system menus.

Engine Options

This car is not very powerful except the Elantra Sport. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has a capacity of 148 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque.  Alternatives are a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged Elantra Eco engine and a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder Elantra Sport turbocharged engine. Both of them are combined with an automated manual transmission (DCT). The Eco engine has less power than the standard four cylinder, but a larger revolution range with a greater torque.

The engine of the Sport trim is considerably stronger and offers 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. The new CVT will impress you on the road. The new CVT aims to increase the fuel efficiency.

Safety Features

The Hyundai Elantra is an exceptionally safe car, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). All the versions of the Elantra have given the top results in crash tests.

For 2020, Elantra is even safer, as all trim levels include front collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane start alert and lane keeping assist. All variants include a blind spot warning and a warning against rear traffic. The ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) works well on the road and you can turn it off with a button on the dashboard if you want to drive without lane support.

Pricing

Hyundai Elantra prices begin at Rs. 17.60 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 20.65 Lakh. Hyundai Elantra is available in five variants. Based on the price of this car, we can conclude that price of this car is quite high. People who are looking for a premium car with style, can go with Elantra.
