Electric highway refers to a road that supplies power to vehicles traveling on it. Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari said the government is planning to build an electric highway between Delhi and Mumbai. He also pleased heavy vehicle owners to use alternative vehicles fuels like methanol, green hydrogen, and ethanol to curb pollution.
The government is constructing tunnels worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore. He also added that trolley trucks and trolleybus will be able to run. A trolleybus is an electric bus that draws power from overhead wires.
The ministry said that they have taken this decision to connect all districts by four-lane roads.
