Google's new street view camera can fit on any car

Google Street view is celebrating its 15th anniversary and is rolling out a new Street view camera that is small enough to fit on any vehicle, with no modifications.

It weighs only 15 pounds or 7 kilograms. The camera is still in pilot mode. It can be easily fitted to the roof racks and users will be able to operate it from a mobile device. It means that the vehicles would not need to be widely specialized and users would not need any complex processing equipment.

It packs 7 discrete 20 megapixels sensors to generate 140 megapixels panoramic pictures. The camera will show potholes, lane markings, and speed limits.

It will also allow Google to add EVs and hybrids to its fleet of cars.

With these new features, it will be even more successful.
