Google map launches street view service in several cities

Google maps has launched its street view service across 10 cities in India in partnership of  Tech Mahindra and Genesys. The Indian government had previously rejected the showing of panoramic images of roads and other sites due to security reasons.

The cities are Delhi, Bombay, Hyderabad, Pune, Vadodara, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

Google is planning to expand this to more than 50 cities by the end of this year, i.e 2022. The country launch marks for the very first time in the world that Street View is being brought to life completely by local partners.

The APIs will also be available to local developers allowing them to deliver richer mapping experiences.
