Check out the new Ford Ecosport with all the bells and whistles. It now sports a larger grille and more slick head lamps.
The Ford EcoSport was one of the first sub-4 metre SUVs in the Indian market when it was launched in 2012, but the car has not undergone a generation update ever since and that certainly hurts its sales compared to modern rivals. The company is said to be the creator of the sub-compact SUV segment, but currently sales figures do not do justice to the car. Hence, Ford recently came into partnership with Mahindra and is planning on introducing some needed upgrades to the sub-4m car.
As shown, the front fascia of upcoming 2021 Ecosport will be completely redesigned. The front grille of a new Ford SUV with a large radiator grille which is flanked by a triple-slacked LED Daytime Running Lights setup, while a sleeker pair of headlamps and black and chrome inserts will also be offered. It should be noted that the 2021 Ford Ecosport is influenced by the Mahindra-owned Italian design house Pininfarina, which is said to be a part of upcoming Ford C-segment SUV appeared on Internet. It will also be offered with dimensional changes like, it might grow in size and offer more cabin space than old model.
Additionally, the cosmetic updates don't look to be of a typical facelift but it appears to be the extending the lifespan of the existing generation to full effect. It’s expected to equipped with a larger touchscreen with Sync4 infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity. The front bumper is also restyled with the lower section making way for a wider air intake and just above on other side, you can see the vertically positioned lighting housing.
The new upcoming SUV is expected to be plonked with the same 1.2-litre mStallion TGDi turbo-petrol engine along with 130 PS of maximum power with 230 Nm peak torque. The current 1.5-litre oil burner which produce 100PS of maximum power and 215 Nm peak torque.
Launch and Price
As of now, the 2021 Ford Ecosport is priced between Rs 8.19-11.70 lakh (ex-showroom), however facelift may lead to minor increase in price. While, it is yet to confirm, the automaker will be launching it in the Indian market in February 2021.
