First "Made in India" electric luxury car launched

Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the first electric luxury car in India. Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 will be launched today with a price tag of Rs 1.55 crore (ex-showroom). The bookings for the EV has already started with Rs 25 lakh. It will compete with the likes of Porsche Taycan EV, Audi-e tron, and other EVs.

It is globally launched last year which is basically the electric avatar of the S class which has won the World Car of the year award for best luxury car.

It comes with 107.8 kWh lithium-ion battery and four-motor set up with motor on each axle. It will offer a range of up to 857 kms on a single charge, as per the company. It is also one of the most powerful EVs in India. It takes around 4 seconds to sprint from 0-100 kmph. It can be charged in 15 minutes at a quick charging station.

It has a sum of three smaller screens used by passengers. It is the largest screen in the world at present. Other highlights are massage seats, ambient lighting, high-end Burmester sound system, and others
