The Delhi Development Authority has approved the proposal for the installation of an EV charging facility at petrol or diesel pumps and CNG stations in national capital.
This move will help to increase the number of electric vehicles on the roads on Delhi at a lesser license fee to curb air pollution.
With more EV charging stations, the sale of electric vehicles in the city is expected to grow. As per DDA, the annual license fee to set up EV station at petrol pump costs Rs 53 lakh, whereas, Rs 46.11 lakh for CNG pumps.
Delhi is one of the first state to come up with the Electric Vehicle Policy in 2020.
