Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini is expected to go on sale in Jan 2021

Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini is a homage to the rich heritage of Lamborghini.

Ducati has unveiled a brand new Lamborghini edition version of the Diavel 1260. This limited edition is built after the carmaker’s Siàn FKP 37 supercar, sporting the same Gea Green and, similar-looking wheels, and light-weight carbon fiber. Ducati has also used golden for the same frame of the new Diavel. Lamborghini launched the Siàn FKP 37 in Sept. 2019 as a company’s first hybrid car. Ducati has been more generous this time and will make 630 units of the new Diavel.

Design

While Lamborghini has restricted this supercar to just 63 units of the model, each Lamborghini and Ducati designer have worked together to deliver something worth being a Limited Edition. The relationship with the Sian FKP 37 is strongly underlined by the forged aluminum wheels featuring the same spoke design and also, the same gold coloring.

However, the highlight in this design remains the golden cast rims used in the alloy wheels. Other key elements inspired by the car are radiator covers, air intakes, fuel tank cover, front and rear mudguards, muffler, seat cover, spoiler, and central tank cover.

The dashboard cover and headlight frame like all the above-mentioned components have been made from carbon fiber and redesigned by Ducati’s style studio. This new edition also pays homage to Automobili Lamborghini’s founding year by imprinting the number 63 on its semi-fairing. The Y-shaped details in Sian FKP 37 have been carried over to the Ducati’s Y-shaped cutouts in the saddle and hexagonal muffler.

Features and Safety

Diavel 1260 Lamborghini has been designed on the same tubular steel trellis frame as the regular model and is assisted by absolutely adjustable Öhlins suspensions at the front and rear. Other components such as, the 17-inch wheels with 240mm profile tyres that have been carried over from the standard model. It tips the weighing scales at 220 kilogram.

Being a Ducati, the electronic suit is top class, host of electronic aids like, Cornering ABS EVO, based on a Bosch’s six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU) that manages major riding and safety control functions, ABS cornering control, traction and wheelie control, and power launch control. Ducati Power Launch Evo (DPL), Cruise Control, and Traction Control EVO (DTC).

Engine

Coming to its performance, Diavel 1260 Lamborghini is powered by a 1262cc L-Twin Testastretta Ducati 90-degree V-twin unique DVT engine. It churns out a maximum of 162 hp at 9,500 rpm and more generous 95-pound feet peek torque at 7500 rpm in this new Euro 5 homologated execution. Furthermore, the hexagonal exhaust tip is made up of carbon fibre.

The suspension duties are handled by 48 mm Ohlins USDs direct and mono-shock at the rear. With regards to brakes, the new Diavel 1260 Lamborghini Edition gets twin 320mm discs with Brembo Monobloc M50 calipers in the front and a 265 mm disc on the rear wheel.

Additional

Apart from these, there's a helmet from Centro Stile Ducati that's same as the colors and graphics of the previous edition. Talking about the color option, the new bike offers a Gee Green color, which is the same paint scheme that Lamborghini has used on the Sian FKP 37.
