In case of no RFID tag on any commercial vehicle, now a provision has been made to cancel its permit.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags for commercial vehicles are again being made compulsory in Delhi. From today, no commercial vehicle will be allowed to enter in the national capital without RFID tag. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has mandated commercial vehicles to hold RFID tag to enter the national capital from August 31, 2021.
As per the notice issued by the SDMC, “With effect from August 31, all commercial vehicles will be allowed to enter Delhi on payment of the toll tax/environment compensation charge (ECC) through RFID system only.... those vehicles that enter Delhi without paying through the RFID mode shall be liable to face legal action including penalty/cancellation of permit."
In particular, SDMC is the nodal agency for RFID system implementation in Delhi. A similar notice was also issued last month, but a fresh notice has issued regarding this. The RFID system has installed at 13 toll plazas. From August 31, it is being strictly implemented.
According to this notice, payment of toll tax or environment compensation will be made only by way of an RFID tag for any business car entering into Delhi from August 31.
The Supreme Court of India ordered the collection of toll tax and ECC via RFID tag only. The SDMC has now equipped all 124 toll booths for entering Delhi from certain commercial vehicles via RFID tag.
The body has also installed a mobile application for recharging tags online. Therefore, you can also register for RFID through SDMC website.

Commercial vehicles without the tag or recharged with sufficient amount shall be cancelled or challaned if they enter Delhi from today.
