Delhi govt to provide financial support for women willing to take up professional training

The Delhi government has launched a financial scheme to support women who want to take up driver training to become professional taxi drivers in future. As per the decision, 50% of the training will be free of cost, which is Rs 4,800 approx for each woman.

The training will be conducted at in-house driving training centres at Sarai Kale Khan, Burani, and Loni.

As per the initiative, the government will invite fleet owners and aggregators to sponsor the remaining 50% of the training cost for women seeking driving employment in these companies. This will help in setting up an optimal mechanism so that women get guaranteed jobs after completion.

The government will soon issue the notice seeking Expression of Interest (EoI) from aggregators and fleet managers.
