Delhi govt launches training program for women cab drivers

The Delhi's Lt Governor VK Saxena has launched a training program for 50 women cab drivers to increase the ratio of female drivers in the public transport sector. The LG also flagged off 40 electric cabs with women drivers behind the wheels held at the event at Sarai Kale Khan.

This training programme will open up new employment avenues for women and make them self-reliant.

Under the programme, 1000 women will be trained and assured employment will be given in next one year. The cost will be borne in 50-50 proportion by the Transport Department.

Women who are the part of this team can directly register with the transport department.
