In a bid to push online RTO services and fight corruption, Arvind Kejriwal has shut few RTO offices and launched several faceless services for Delhites.
To increase transparency and fight corruption in transport department offices and liberate Delhiites from long queues, brokers, and intermediaries at RTO offices, the Delhi government launched Faceless Services of the transport department on Wednesday. Initially, the initiative will provide 33 key transportation-related services completely online. These 33 services, launched by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, cover almost 95% of applications.
Delhiites may access these 33 impersonal services of the Transport department online. Kejriwal said, "Services in many ministries would make online and faceless, as done with the Transportation Department."
"It represents a significant step toward building a technologically advanced India in the twenty-first century. All transportation-related services are now available without contacting transportation offices, taking leave, or submitting to intermediaries," he said.
The chief minister said that true independence for the people on the 75th anniversary of Independence Day would achieve by eliminating intermediaries, bribes, and lengthy lines.
The government shut down four MLOs, including IP Estate Sarai Kale Khan, Vasant Vihar, and Janakpuri, by making registration certificates, permits, driving licenses, and termination of hypothecation accessible online in a faceless form.
Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said that during the testing of the online service, 3.50 lakh service requests granted in a faceless manner, with individuals applying from their homes and completing work without visiting an office.
