Cyrus Mistry died in car accident

Former chairman of Tata Group, Cyrus Mistry died in car accident in Maharashtra's Palghar on Sunday. He had a head injury. He was travelling in Mercedes car from Gujarat to Mumbai.

He was travelling with three other people, Darius Pandole, Anahita (his wife), and Darius's brother, Jehangir, the other person who also died in the accident. The incident took place when the car hit the road divider at Charoti area of Palghar, 135 km from Mumbai.

Officials are prima facie treating this case as an accident however, they'll investigate the reason of accident. The incident took place around 2:30 PM, when the car was on the bridge on the Surya river, which is around 20 km away from the check post.

As per the reports, the car covered this distance in 9 minutes only. Mistry and Jahangir Pandole was sitting in rear seats and were not wearing seat belts.

Some of the findings are:

  1. Anahita Pandole was driving the car and hit a road divider on the bridge. As per the eye-witness, car was trying to overtake the another vehicle from the left side.
  2. They were taken to private hospital in Gujarat just after the accident.
  3. The front airbags saved the life of the driver and the co-passenger.
  4. The images shows that the rear side of the car is not mangled.
