A couple killed after dumper crashed into their car in RK Puram area on Wednesday. Whereas, their six-year old daughter suffered minor injuries, the police said. The couple, Manish Sharma (37) and Kshipra Joshi (32), who were returning home to Noida after celebrating their marriage anniversary.
Several teams of the Delhi Police involving fire brigade reached the spot to rescue the family but they could not move the truck. The dumper was removed using hydraulic crane. Also, the rescue teams used the gas cutters to cut the damaged car.
All three were rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
The front side of the car was badly crushed. Since the couple was sitting on the front seats and got severely hurt, while their daughter was sitting on the back seat and survived.
As per the police, the truck driver told that the accident happened when the car was trying to overtake it. The driver lost the control and his truck fell onto the car as truck tried to changed the lane and hit the divider which was moving parallel to it on the left.
