BMW 5 Series Facelfit launched at 62.90 lakhs

The BMW 5 Series facelift is offered in three versions with one petrol and two diesel engine options, and comes with a host of feature and cosmetic upgrades.

BMW India has launched the 2021 5-Series facelift with a price tag of Rs 62.90 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. It is followed by three variants namely 530i M Sport (petrol), 520d Luxury Line and 530d M Sport (both diesel). Bookings for new BMW 5-Series facelift are now open at all the company authorized dealerships.

Online bookings made before July 24, 2021 on limited units of M Sport variant will get a discount of up to 50 percent on a selected range of exclusive M Performance accessories. It will go up against the likes of Audi A5, Mercedes Benz E-Class and Jaguar XF in the Indian market.  

Exterior

The 2021 5 series facelift comes with primarily a new grille, bumpers and lights - but they all work really well to sharpen up the already well-proportioned 5 series. The M Sport version get a new front with the slimmer LED headlamps and laser-light technology as well.  The rear-end feature L-shaped light graphics which emerge from the taillight in a three dimensional form.

Some of the notable features are large glass sunroof, Electronic Power Steering, leather steering wheel, Ambient Lighting Package, Lumbar Support for vertical and lateral seat adjustment, Welcome Light Carpet and four-zone automatic climate control with SYNC function.

Interior

Similarly, additional changes continue on the inside too. It comes loaded with many other premium bells and whistles in the form of 12.3-inch Control Display with BMW Virtual Assistant & BMW Gesture Control, BMW Operating System 7.0 includes 3D Navigation, Wireless Charging for mobile phones, BMW Head-Up Display, Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, Parking Assistant Plus with 360-degree camera, Harman Kardon Surround Sound System with high-end 16 speaker system, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Remote-Control Parking, and BMW Display Key.

Safety

The safety features Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, on-board are six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC).

Engine

The new version comes with two diesel and one petrol engine. The entry-level diesel variant 520d produces power from a 2.0L 4-cylinder powertrain which generates maximum power output of 190 bhp and peak torque 400 Nm. It touches the 100kmph mark from standstill in just 7.3 seconds. The petrol variant is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine which produces top power of 252 bhp and 350 Nm.

The 530d variant gets the 3.0L 6-cylinder in-line motor which draws power at 265 bhp and 620 Nm while doing the 0-100kmph sprint in only 5.7 seconds. All the variants are linked to an 8-speed steptronic sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
