BJP Manoj Tiwari fined Rs 21,000 for violating traffic rules during bike rally

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari was challaned by the Delhi Traffic Police for riding a two-wheeler without helmet at the "Har Ghar Tiranga" bike rally. He was riding Royal Enfield motorcycle to mark the 75th Independence day of India. The police slapped four challans to him of Rs 21,000.

The owner of the vehicle did not have a valid pollution certificate and HSRP (High Security Registration Plate).  

Later, Tiwari took to social media to apologise for his actions. He posted a tweet stating that he'll pay the fine and sorry for not wearing helmet. He said “Very Sorry for not wearing helmet today. I will pay the challan @dtptraffic.. clear number plate of vehicle is shown in this photo and location was Red Fort. All of you are requested not to ride two wheelers without helmet. #DriveSafe family and friends need you,”.
