2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift launch-All you need to know

New Swift has arrived. Look at this article to find interesting features.

The facelifted version of the best selling Maruti Suzuki Swift is scheduled to launch in India in the month of February, 2021.  It is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the domestic market and it is currently in third generation, which was launched in 2018 and the automaker is planning to give it a mid-size facelift very soon with cosmetic changes to keep it fresh. Let's look at its important features:

Exteriors

On the exterior, the grille of the prototype is covered by a heavy cardboard sheet, given that this is the only change that the modern-spec model has received. It also features a dual-tone paint scheme which includes a black roof and A-pillar. Among other subtle changes, it will get a new honeycomb mesh, a horizontal slat in the middle and new design of alloy wheels. However, the biggest change is under the hood.

Interiors

On the interior of the new swift, there are not many changes except for the new fabrics for the upholstery. The top-spec version gets features like better sound system, LED daytime running lights, automatic LED headlights, air purifier, 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, better connected car tech, a rear camera, ambient lighting, a 7.0-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and go and more. However, we can expect a slightly trim for the cabin.

Engine

Talking about the powertrain, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine has been proven to be peppy. In it's latest model, the engine  will be more powerful by 7 PS and produces 90bhp and the peak 113 Nm. Transmission options with 5-speed manual gearbox and 5-speed AMT will be carried forward. The company is likely to use the facelift opportunity to introduce a mild hybrid system with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and discontinued the diesel option in the updated option.

Price

Maruti Swift is currently priced from Rs 5.49 to Rs 8.02 lakh (ex-showroom) and we expect a higher value when model arrives which is rose by about Rs 6,000- Rs 22,000, depending on the variant. The vehicle will continue to rival the likes of Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and Tata Tiago in the Indian market.
