Heard about new XUV300 Sportz? Learn all about its features, engine, and more.
Mahindra has showcased a powerful variant of its compact-SUV, the XUV300 called the Sportz. It will feature some additional stickers and coloured brake calipers. It will draw power from T-GDi turbo-petrol engine from a different motor which produces more torque and power than the standard version and other cosmetic changes inside and out.
Features
On the inside, the cabin including dashboard has some model-specific changes with an all-black treatment with red highlights on dashboard and seats (stitching). The SUV's top-end model comes packed with features like powered sunroof, heated wing mirrors, leatherette upholstery, air-con vents 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, auto-dimming rearview mirror, front parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring system, steering wheel, 3 point sea belt for the middle back seat and 6 airbags.
Engine
Speaking about the engine, the upcoming SUV has 1.2 litre, three-cylinder, direct-injection, turbocharged GDI motor which produces 130 bhp & 230 Nm of max torque. This is 20 bhp and 30 Nm more power and torque output on the standard XUV300. Upon launch, the T-GDI engine is expected to come mated to a 6-speed MT and will be sold alongside the existing engine options. The new engine is also expected to make its way into the the EcoSport as a replacement for its 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine which offers the segment-best performance of 123bhp.
Price and Launch
The Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will be priced slightly more premium. It’s estimated to priced between Rs 12.30 lakh-12.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It's launch is expected to take place in second half of 2021.
Competition
The Mahindra XUV300 rivals the Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza; among others in the domestic market. However, with the time the Sportz variant arrives, it will have to take on some of the new rival like the Nissan Magnite and Kia Sonet that will be launched in India with a turbo-petrol engine as well.
