Ford Mustang is a car that has always been on everyone's wish list. Ford is all set to launch the latest Mustang in the Indian market by June 2021.
Ford’s Mustang was the car which introduced the muscle car genre to the world and it did it well and affordably. It was launched globally in 1964 but came to India only 4-years ago i.e. 2016. Though, it's not on sale in India now, is expected to make a comeback to the market by June 2021.
It is one of the most successful sports or GT cars to have gone on sale in India, the upcoming model would appeal to so many as it blends attractive looks, strong performance, good driving manners and a comfortable cabin and all in an attractive price. The company brought the vehicle, late but, its demand and sales have compelled Ford to bring a new facelift version of Ford Mustang in India soon.
Exterior
On the exterior, the pony inspired looks and strong angular lines are in the car DNA. The updated vehicles looks a little more sleek and stylish, polished for starters. Front starters, the front bumper is new and features a more pronounced chin. The air-vents on the hood of the automobile make it's look absolutely extraordinary. Black highlights throughout the exteriors of the vehicle which add a sporty touch to the outside of this new machine.
Both front and back get new LED lights and new rear spoiler is included with changes. The bottom clearance remains terribly low and same as before. Topping up the exterior, the redesigned LED headlamps and taillights.
Interior
Coming about to the interiors, changes include an all new digital instrument cluster along with traditional race dials. It also comes with an updated infotainment system on the central dashboard that now features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and the quality of the screen has been improved as well. However, the features they provide, we tend to have an interest in what powers this beast.
Well, there's no big improvement in the quality of the basic plastic bits, there are some improvements in areas like the trim on the doorpads and quality of the seats. Plastic is still used in the interiors and negative point thus. The cabin space is similar to the previous model.
Engine
Yes, the international-spec Ford Mustang is offered with 2.3-litre Ecoboost powertrain option. But the India-spec model should provide 5.0-litre V8 Coyote engine, one of the main reasons for its success in India. It produces 450hp as against the 401 hp and a peak torque 560 Nm of the previous India car. It makes it's maximum power at a lofty 7000 rpm with its redline at 7500 rpm. Alternatively, it includes coilover plug ignition, cast-aluminium pistons, forged connecting rods, and twin injectors: two per cylinder (one direct, the other indirect).
The new 2021 Ford Mustang also comes with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and a limited slip differential at the rear.
Price
Ford Mustang is likely to add more models this time around, maybe the convertible version. Expected to reach our stores by June 2021. Prices could start from Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom).
