New Audi Q5 Facelift 2021-Detailed information

2020 has been a challenging year for all the automakers in India but for Audi, it has been a lot more worse. Hoping to get back on growth, the company has taken the wraps off the face-lifted and updated version of the new Q5 SUV. The model is sharper, sportier and features visual updates on the outside and inside-primarily with regards to the tech you get.

Exterior

The updated model receives quite a few cosmetic updates compared to the outgoing model to remain in line with Audi’s latest style identity. At the front, new LED headlamps, a front-end with the new octagonal single-frame grille that is now a lot shallower than before and loses the brushed silver bezel that connected it to the headlamps, and revised bumper which is now a lot more chiselled, make for a sportier character.

The changes to the profile are restricted to redesigned side skirts whereas the rear fascia adopts a replacement bumper with a new diffuser and subtly revised tailgate. There's a trim piece that currently connects the tail-lamps and therefore, back bumper-just like the front-is sportier with new vents and integrated exhaust tips. New color choices could also be on offer for the Indian market.  

Interior

On the interior, While the design of the dashboard remains almost the same, the has been up-sized from the older to 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The rotary control knob on the center console has been done away in favor of a storage compartment.

The updated luxury SUV provides a feature called 'functions on demand' that offers the option of activating additional features such as Navigation Plus which offers high-res images by Audi and Google Earth's smartphone interface by over-the-air updates through the MyAudi app. of the optional 12.3-inch configurable color TFT instrument cluster (Virtual Cockpit) which now boasts of 10 times more computing power than it predecessor.

Other optional features include, three zone climate control, head-up display, 360-degree parking sensors, ambient lighting, heated front seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and go, multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, TC, ESP, and so on. The international-spec top-end variant pack include, 21 inch alloy wheels, 360 degree camera, adaptive air suspension, park assist and many more.

Engine

While globally, Audi will continue to offer the Q5 facelift mated with petrol and diesel engines, however, it will continue to offer with one petrol engine in India. The Indian-spec model is powered by the familiar 2.0-liter TFSI turbo petrol engine producing 245hm and 370Nm of torque.

In its latest model, the vehicle produces 19 hp more at 261 hp but continues to generate 370 Nm of torque and will be mated with 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox.
