Nissan X-Terra is designed at the Global Design studio in Japan and shares styling cues with the Patrol SUV.

Nissan has now unveiled the all new 2021 7-seater X-Terra SUV which has been launched in the Middle East and South East Asian countries, but before you ask it, no this is not coming to India. The new model of X-Terra is a face lift version that is sold in ASEAN countries and gets revised exteriors and interiors.

Exterior

The new model is designed at the Global Design studio in Japan. It measures 4.9 meters in length, 2.1 meters in breadth and 1.9 meters in height, and also has a ground clearance of 243mm. This new model shares styling cues from the Patrol SUV. The front facia of the SUV offers the signature V-motion front grille with thick frame and revised horizontal chrome bars.

The upcoming SUV arises fitted with uniquely styled C-shaped LED signature headlamps. It additionally has LED projector lamps, which is claimed to offer high-tech vibe. At the rear, the new SUV has a wide LED signature tail-lamps and characteristic chrome center finisher. The top-spec model comes fitted with a collection of 18-inch machine cut alloys. Chrome side steps and a chrome auto folding mirrors completes the entire look.

Interiors

The interior has it's own identity, comes with dual tone black and light grey scheme with a use of high quality leather seat fabrics along with elevated levels of comfort for the middle and front rows promising reduced restless drive over long distances. The Nissan X-Terra is a proper full-size SUV with three row seating and a 50:50 split third row seats.

The Nissan X-Terra also sports an acoustic glass that is said to make its cabin sound proof. The dashboard looks all new features and design by a larger 9 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with a 7 inch TFT MID display and a Bose sound system. Other options will include a multi function steering wheel, three spoke, flat bottom, wireless charging, and for passengers at the rear an 11 inch flip down screen.

Safety

The Japanese automakers have increased safety equipment on the new model with an active safety features consisting of lane departure warning, cross traffic alert, intelligent driver alert, electronic locking rear differential, blind spot warning and intelligent forward collision warning. As a part of its safety equipment, the X-Terra also receives a digital rear view mirror that uses the camera to provide an uninterrupted view of what is behind the vehicle.

Engine

The new Nissan X-Terra features will be powered by a 2.5 liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine pared to 7-speed automatic gearbox making 165 hp power at 6,000 rpm and 241 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm. Power are going be sent to either the rear wheels or all four wheels. It also offers a five-link coil spring rear suspension system and rigid rear-wheel axle. Nearer to home, the company is prepping for the launch of the all-new Magnite, their make-or-break product in India.

Price

In 2021, the new Nissan X-Terra SUV carries a beginning price-tag of AED 99,900 (approximately Rs. 20 lakh) and will go on sale in the upcoming weeks. Moreover, this rival to the Ford Endeavour and MG Gloster is unlikely to be launched in India.
