Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been a bestseller outselling all other car models in its segment. It has also consistently made to the list of top 10 most sold cars every month. The 2022 Maruti Baleno will come with brand-new interior and exterior. However, it will not be a full generation change.
Here are some of the key changes that we are expecting in the 2022 Baleno.
New exterior design
As per spy shots, new Baleno hatchback will come with a completely overhauled front and rear end. Up front, it is expected to have a wider stance with a larger grille that will extend into the headlamps. New headlamps have a L-shaped wraparound design with LED DRL signatures. The front bumper will have air dam and new fog lamp housings.
At the rear, Baleno will have sleeker L-shaped tail lights, a re-profiled rear bumper and a brand new tailgate. The design looks much sharper and slicker than the outgoing model.
More premium interiors
The Baleno offers the most spacious and comfortable in its class. However, it lacks in terms of features and attractive design. To address this issue, the upcoming Baleno will have a larger and free-standing touchscreen. AC vents have a sleeker look and positioned horizontally below the touch screen. The dashboard will have a layered effect along with brushed aluminium insert.
2022 Baleno is expected to come with better quality plastics, new switchgear for the AC controls, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a revised instrument cluster. It may also offers features like automated headlamps, cruise control, and wipers among others.
Better infotainment system
The brand-new infotainment system will come with a new 9-inch screen. It will get an on-board SIM to enable connected car technology along with geofencing, find your car, real-time tracking, intrusion detection, and tow away alert among others. It will also support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
No new engine
2022 Baleno will come with existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in two versions - non-hybrid 83hp and the 90hp with 12V mild-hybrid tech. It will be mated to existing 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearboxes.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno rivals in India
The new Baleno will rival the likes of the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Tata Altroz, and Volkswagen Polo. It is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2022.
